I combined the ideas of Shakespeare (I chose Hamlet), and demon/tribal. I decided to try to create a physical manifestation of his inner turmoil. I wanted him to literally be torn open/apart and show the skull underneath which is always a symbol of Hamlet. I think a hamlet set in a tribe would be really cool.

I thought that it would be difficult to make my character idea work and it was. But I hadn't planned well with the smallness of Courtney's real forehead, though I got around that and I think made it better than before during application. I also didn't realize how much more difficult doing human elements would be compared to creating a fantasy creature. It was just a lot harder over all for me. I think in part because organic structures are much more random than fantasy ones.

I wanted to just get better at creating my prosthetic and application. I'm pretty comfortable with sculpting and would do better the more I worked.

I think just the idea in of itself is cool and unique and I think doing the tearing skin with the added nail tearing into flesh thing was cool.
